Are you suddenly not cleaning your beautiful blinds on your own? Under normal circumstances, this would be amazing, but do your family understand how to treat them and what not to use?
When cleaning any window blind it is important to know the material you are working with, and with wooden blinds it is even more important. Excessive water, harsh detergent and a vacuum without an upholstery extension is a definite recipe for damage to your beautiful blinds. Excess moisture is wood’s worst enemy, so avoid getting wooden blinds wet, any excessive water may lead to staining and the slats may change shape (warp).
To dust them, use a clean microfibre cloth or a soft feather duster. Never use a vacuum without an upholstery or a vacuum brush. How often should I clean my blinds? As a rule, give your blinds a thorough cleaning every four months, or at the very least, twice a year.
Regular cleaning according to the manufacturer’s guidelines, will keep your blinds looking as beautiful as the day you got them, as long as you take special care and clean on a regular basis. By avoiding dirt and dust build-up, it will be easy to give them a quick cleaning as part of your daily and weekly cleaning routine.
Happy Cleaning!!
